MANDATORY CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION (MCLE):The State Bar in California, and in 39 states, requires active attorneys, with some exceptions, to complete 25 hours (California) of continuing education every three years including at least four hours of legal ethics, one hour of elimination of bias in the legal profession and one hour of prevention, detection and treatment of substance abuse or mental illness. Failing to fulfill MCLE requirements can result in placement on administrative inactive status. Attorneys who are audited and found to have falsely reported compliance may also face discipline.
Over the course of his 28 years of practicing law, Attorney Polin has had to comply like all California attorneys and the one thing that has always bothered him was the lack of excellent and interesting content regarding international matters and in particular, the many legal issues with doing business in China. TEACH ME CHINA has seven titles now approved for CLE credits, with more coming soon all of which will be available shortly. Each seminar is one hour or more depending on title. These titles include: • CONTRACT NEGOTIATION, TERMS, LEGAL STRUCTURES • COPYRIGHTS, INTELLECTUAL PROPERTIES, COURT SYSTEMS, AND REMEDIES • HIRING, FIRING, PROMOTING, AND OTHER WORK PLACE ISSUES • LEGAL DUE DILIGENCE PART ONE • LEGAL DUE DILIGENCE PART TWO • LICENSING AND LEGAL ISSUES • MONEY REPATRIATION, CONTRACTS, AND EXCLUSIVITY ISSUES For more information on attending these CLE events please send us an email so we can keep you updated as to when these offerings will be available, in what formats, and what the new event titles will be. |
